Making their Jup debut, guitarist David White is a Grammy-nominated and acclaimed jazz guitarist and composer, schooled in bebop for many years with Charlie Shoemaker in Los Angeles, he was exploring odd meters and long form composition in the 1990s long before that was fashionable. His current trio project, beautifully captured in his latest release, While You Were Sleeping, is a unique hybrid of bebop, Latin, free, and harmony-rich 21st century jazz rendered in an electric modern vein.
